How to play
Launching and diving
Drag back anywhere on the screen, aim the dotted arc and let go. Tap anywhere during the flight to dive, as often as you like. Dive onto a zombie to stomp it and bounce higher; the longer the fall, the harder the stomp. Hitting the ground in a dive is a slam: a big bounce that costs forward speed, so aim your dives at something. Just bumping into a zombie only bonks.
Every launch starts with a bullseye spring. Make it your first touchdown for bonus coins.
Zombies, boosters and dangers
Brutes throw Grandpa higher, a rare Colossus throws him sky-high, Gold Zombies pay a coin shower and Boomers explode. Springs, TNT, rockets and updraft fans keep him flying; dive onto a spring or TNT for a MEGA version. Crates and glass pay out when smashed. Wolves, crocodiles, bears and big cats steal speed, and a red badge warns you what is coming. The crowned Zombie King takes three dives in a row.
Up in the sky
Balloons give a lift. Smiling clouds bounce Grandpa back up, and sky ladders are a staircase of them. Dive onto a bird or the top of a plane for a bounce; jets and flying saucers throw him higher still. The rare Sky Cannon fires him toward space, and a fall from there ends in a Meteor Stomp. Brick barricades and sticky nets stop Grandpa dead and break your combo, so watch for the blinking exclamation mark.
Coins, upgrades and zones
Coins buy permanent upgrades (Slingshot Power, Bounce Suit, Dive Boots, Aerodynamics, Coin Magnet and Bigger Booms) and one gadget per launch. Missions pay extra coins. Hangar gates at 500 m, 1,400 m and 2,800 m lead into the Workshop, the Foundry and the low-gravity Moon Base.
The Daily Race
Once a day there is one world for everyone, with a fixed loadout. Coins are halved, the first attempt of the day pays a streak bonus, and your best run of the day replays as a ghost.
Gems and characters
Grandpa Ninja and the Volunteer are free. The other characters in The Cast unlock with gems, which you earn by reaching a new distance or height for the first time, catching rare gems in the sky and earning three stars in a Playground trial. Everything is earned by playing; there are no ads and nothing to buy. Every character plays the same.
The Playground
The Playground is a physics sandbox with crash trials, stunt jobs and a shelf of saved experiments. Open it from the home screen.
Questions
The game is quiet
Check that Sound effects and Music are switched on in the game’s Settings, that your iPhone is not in Silent Mode and that the volume is up. Sound effects follow the Silent switch. Music plays on the launcher screens and stays quiet while your own music is playing.
I do not feel any haptics
Haptic feedback needs an iPhone with a Taptic Engine and the Haptic feedback switch on in the game’s Settings. iPads do not have haptics.
Where is my progress saved? Can I reset it?
Everything is saved only on your device. Restoring an iPhone from a backup brings it back; deleting the game removes it. To start again from zero, delete the game and install it again.
Does it need the internet? Does it cost anything?
No and no. The game is free, works offline, has no ads and has no in-app purchases.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later, in landscape.
